Les Indiennes certified organic cotton bed linen is made using a traditional process called Kalamkari an extremely complex textile process requiring 13 steps and 40 days to complete. Sun-bleached organic cotton fabric is printed from hand-carved blocks dipped in ayurverdic dyes derived from plants, roots, earth, and rock. Les Indiennes fabrics are created without automation, electricity or mechanization so production does not cause any pollution.
Les Indiennes perpetuates and sustains the ancient art of Kalamkari while providing fair-trade employment to over 50 families in a village in Southern India.
