Cushions
All of the cushions are handmade in the UK from ethically sourced, organic and eco friendly fabrics. We make our own inserts from organic cotton and organic wool balls which comply with The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 without the use of chemical flame retardants.
We use ethically sourced, organic wool balls instead of feathers because we do not want to contribute to the abuse of animals. Most feathers are a by product of the meat industry but due to large scale intensive farming of birds for the meat industry the welfare standards for these birds cannot be guaranteed - see our about us, info page for more information.
Feather fillers are treated with chemical flame retardants which can off gas and find their way into our bodies with potentially harmful effects on our health.
